Bruno & Michelle go to Kauai

Bruno and I went to Kauai on June 27th for a little vacation, and a bit of business. We returned home on July 6th.

We stayed in a condo for 3 nights before heading over to the Grand Hyatt for the NECA Conference. This is the view from the condo Lanai.

Our first full day we took a catamaran boat trip to the Na Pali Coast. Along the way we ran into a school of dolphins.

The Na Pali Coast is only accessible by boat, helicopter or a really long grueling hike.

It was so beautiful!

Surfers out in front of the Grand Hyatt.

Wailua Falls

Kilauea Point and Lighthouse.

At the end of the road on the North end of the island, Waikanaloa Wet Cave.

We took a hike in the Waimea Canyon, known as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" . Great scenery!

Waipoo Falls. Consisted to three sets of falls. Tier one.

Tier two.

We hiked around to the other side of the falls to get a eastern view of the Canyon. This has the Pacific Coast in the background.

At the Grand Hyatt they have koi feeding every day in the morning. There's hundreds of koi all vying for food, they make incredible noise.

Feeding the koi.

The Grand Hyatt. What a nice place!!

Our friends, Paul and Donna, renewed their wedding vows for their 30th wedding anniversary. They had eloped to the Cocoa Palms 30 years ago, but The Palms was decimated by Hurricane Iniki in 1992 and it was never rebuilt. It's completely abandoned. Instead they got married in front of family and friends on Shipwreck Beach in front of the Hyatt. It was very beautiful.

On another hike we came across this huge bamboo stand.

We of course had a luau.

And they drug me up on stage to "Hula" the finale.

They Hyatt's "lobby". We are waiting to go zip lining and took the opportunity to have our picture taken.

The Hyatt's resident parrots.

Ten of us went on a zip line tour in the jungle. Sam, Eric and Bruno are checking out their gear.

Dawn and Eric.

This is someone from the group after us. There were a total of 7 lines, and the second one is the tallest, the longest was 940' long. It was a lot of fun!

There's a zipliner hidden in the trees.

The day before we left Bruno took a deep fishing trip. Didn't get anything though.
