Father's Day hike to Fragrance Lake

Me, Bruno, Marcus and Nicole took a hike on Father's Day to Fragrance Lake. Alex didn't go with us because he was with my brother up at the Dirt Cup races.
We found this cool waterfall on the way to the lake.

That's Marcus standing there.

It's about a 2.2 mile hike to the lake. It's a steady uphill hike the whole way. You can walk all the way around the lake too.

After walking around the lake we stopped to take a rest before heading down the trail. We took a different route on the way back. Glad we didn't take that one up, it was a lot steeper!

On the way down we took a side trail to a great viewpoint. The sun was starting to come out, so it was a nice view.

I think that might be Lummi Island out there??

Next hikes we go on will be in Hawaii :-)

Alex's side job. Lumberjack.

The backhoe operator who has been cutting the trees down behind our house was really nice and placed a dozen smaller logs on our property. Alex's plan is to cut and split the logs, season them for a year and sell them at the Dirt Cup races next June.

Bruno gives Marcus a lesson on chainsaw operating.

But Bruno wants to share in the fun!

Alex is happy to split the wood. He really seems to like splitting wood! And he's good at it.

They got about half of the logs cut and the pull start on the chainsaw broke. Bummer! One more thing for Bruno to fix.

Alex's last baseball game of the season.

Alex played on a Senior's Little League team for South Skagit Little League. Saturday, June 13th was their last two games. A double header against Lake Stevens. They split the two games, 1-1.

Contemplation.

PUD cutting the trees down behind our house :-(

Our last Synergy Concert

All the kids in Synergy sang one full song, accompanied by an awesome trio.
Marcus sang "I'm your Man".

Allisha sang "Lullaby of Birdland".

The whole group sang two closing songs; "For all we Know" and "Change the World".
